We love all stories. Every friendship has them. One of our favorite parts about being wedding photographers is getting to run a business together, and all of the memories we have made during our many years of of being best friends.

In reading the title of this post, you must be wondering what in the world we are about to share with you. This is one of our more embarrassing yet funny memories. In the beginning of our business, we got the idea to take some updated photos for our website. Imagine Chelsea and I on a hot summer’s day wearing knee length dresses and heels on our way to take pictures for our website. We had all of our photography gear, a tripod, several bags, and our hunter boots. We hiked up a small hill with all of our gear in hand to an open field with tall grass.

As we walked around to find a good spot for our pictures, Chelsea in front and Hannah slightly behind, all of the sudden a giant turkey jumped out of the tall grass, and chased after us!

It was incredibly frightening as we ran as fast as we could in heels, while leaving all of our photography gear behind! All we could think about in the moment was making sure we didn’t sprain an ankle or get attacked by a turkey!

We ran all the way back to our car. But then quickly realized we had to go all the way back to grab our bags.

After catching our breath, we walked quietly back up the hill and managed to gather our things. We were even brave enough to stay a while longer and get the photos we needed (on the opposite side of the field of course). Thankfully, we didn’t see the (GIANT) turkey again.

This memory will forever be ingrained in our minds! It is one that we debated on sharing. In the moment, it wasn’t the funniest situation. It was quite terrifying, especially for Chelsea because she is TERRIFIED of birds, but afterwards, we found ourselves laughing at the entire scenario. We kept playing the entire scene over and over in our heads, and pictured what we would have looked like if there had been someone watching the whole thing, which we hope there wasn’t.
