“It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re seventeen and planning for someday, and then quietly, without you really noticing that someday is today.”

I’ve known Hanna, this beautiful bride, for as long as I can remember. She has been my big sister’s best friend since they were in third grade. They’re twenty-nine now. Wow! Where did the time go?

I watched my sister get married a few months ago, but it wasn’t until this past weekend at Hanna’s wedding did I have an out of body experience. There was a minute during the toasts that I got to look around at everyone in attendance, many of which I have known for years, and realize that all things I watched them go through as they grew up– the good and the bad– led them here. A place they themselves probably couldn’t even imagine when they were seventeen, sitting around the dining room table laughing and crying about all of the “very important, life altering” high school drama.

I learned so much from them as I was able to be the fly on the wall during all of their and my formative years. I would have never dreams that I would have the privilege and honor to capture all of the moments on both of their wedding days.

When I was younger, I just wanted to know that my sister and Hanna noticed my existence. Now, I was able to be a part of one of the most important days of their lives. I will remember that heartwarming, proud little sister moment for the rest of my life.

Hanna, I’m so happy you found your person. Ridge is so incredibly kind and thoughtful to his friends and family and to complete strangers. I couldn’t imagine you marrying anyone else.

There were a few moments during Hanna’s wedding day when she looked at Hannah and I and said, “I just couldn’t imagine anyone but you two being here with us today.”

Same here, Hanna. Same here.
