Light streamed into the reception venue as champagne glasses were filled, guests took their seats, and Jerica and Lester joined hands as the Jerica’s older sister, Debbie, took the microphone. Her voice shook at first but she soon grew confident as she gave a heartfelt toast to her baby sister and her new husband. Although he was Jerica’s new husband, Lester was not a stranger to the family. He has been by Jerica’s side for years already.

Debbie then handed off the microphone off to Lester’s little brother, Josh, who was overcome with emotion with the task of toasting Lester, the man that basically raised him. The man that always inspired him to dream big. The microphone was then passed to Jerica’s godfather, then Lester’s mother, then Lester’s college friends…I’m convinced everyone would have given a speech if they would have gotten the opportunity, but the toasting came to a close when Jerica’s sweet nephew put  took the microphone and started speaking his mind to the crowd. It was the cutest thing, and extremely entertaining.

With each person that took the microphone, we learned not only what incredible people Jerica and Lester are, which has been obvious from the moment we met them, but we also learned about the family and friends that raised them into the beautiful people they are. With each speech that passed, two themes rang through. One, the love that Jerica and Lester have for one another inspires each and every person they come in contact with. Two, the foundation of faith and trust God that each and every person there had. The number one advise they received, was to seek God first. Stake your relationship in God and nothing can break it. Such beautiful words.

Jerica and Lester, we were so honored to have been able to bare witness to your marriage. You have truly become our friends, and we are so excited to see where you go from here. We know the world is better with you two in it.
