We all have a vision of what we want to accomplish in life. To achieve our dreams, we have to set small, realistic goals to help us be successful. Each time we complete a goal, we set another. Each goal acts as a stepping stone to push us forward.

Like any business owner, we are constantly setting goals and pushing ourselves to accomplish more. In the past year for our business, we have booked 7 weddings and shot a variety of sessions, like family, maternity, senior, and engagements. We built an online website and started several social media accounts. We never imagined we would have accomplished as much as we have in the past 12 months. As we look back at what we’ve done, we are continuing to set goals for the rest of this year and into next year.

Growth and success comes by continually pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. It comes by having the courage to try something new. As we enter into the second half of the year, we’ve established a new set of goals… Here are some of our goals for the remainder of the year:

1.     Establish an L.L.C.- We want to be too legit to quit. We are finally getting to the point where we are ready to establish Golden Hour Images as an official business!

2.     Book 5 More Weddings for Next Year- Weddings are our main product that we offer. We want to continue to shoot more weddings to gain experience and to grow the business.

3.     Start an Email List- We want to create our own tribe and online community through an email list.

4.     Grow our Instagram following- We want to curate an online gallery for inspiration and to show more of who we are to our friends and clients.

5.     Create a Styled Session- We are visual people through and through. We love creating beautiful imagery. We plan to use this session to build our portfolio and to show people what we are capable of as creatives.

6.     Start a Senior Rep Program- We want to establish more of a presence in senior photography.

7.     Learn Calligraphy- We want to learn calligraphy to add custom products to our wedding packages to add to the details of a wedding day.

Friends, success does not come easily. You have to work extremely hard to get where you want to be. It does not happen overnight. The best advice I can give to anyone with a dream is to start small. Set small and realistic goals and work to complete them. Once those are completed, make new goals. Each goal you complete will bring you a step closer towards where you want to be.
