“Sometimes you don’t find the dog, the dog finds you.”

That was certainly the case a few Sunday’s ago when my parents found this sweet dog. My mom spotted her in the yard on Monday, but after going for a walk with her own dogs, the mysterious little dog was gone. Five days later, my mom spotted a little accident in her garage and knew that her dogs couldn’t have been the culprit so she went looking around in our garage and under our house. Sure enough, this sweet little white dog that we now call Mellie was snuggled up under the house with two little puppies. She had been hiding under our house for five days taking care of her puppies. We were horrified when we found her because we felt so guilty that we didn’t see or hear her sooner, but she never made a sound!

My mom quickly picked Mellie and her puppies up and put them in warm blankets. She then slowly began giving Mellie food, water, and lots of love. I got the call not soon after that and raced home to my parents house to see her.

A week and lots of food, water, and lost sleep, sweet Mellie and her puppies are doing great! She is my new best friend and has a permanent home with me.

Although we posted her picture on social media, we have yet to find where she came from, but that doesn’t matter anymore because she’s my sweet girl now!
