A Texan Engagement Session in Nashville

Engagements

June 11, 2020

Chelsea and I can honestly say that Renae and Lukas’s engagement session was one of our more adventurous ones! As soon as we arrived on Renae’s uncle’s property, she shared that she really wanted to take pictures in front of his Longhorns. Her family owns over 50+ Longhorns. We have never seen so many in one place before, especially in Tennessee.

In order to get pictures in front of the Longhorns, Renae’s uncle had to lure them to the back pasture ( in the open shade). He loaded his truck up with feed to get them to follow us. Getting the Longhorns to the exact spot we needed them to be at was one of the most crazy parts. We rode in the back of Lukas’s truck while over 50 Longhorns ran along side us following the truck filled with feed. It felt like Jurassic Park at one point but with Longhorns instead of Longnecks! Lukas had to dodge them as they ran in front of his truck.

Once we started to take pictures, I definitely felt out of my element as Longhorns collided not but 6 feet away from us as we tried to pose Renae and Lukas! There was one point when two rammed their horns together right next to Chelsea and I. Out of the corner of my eye, I thought they were coming towards us and I instinctively tried to pull Chelsea away! lol! My anxiety was higher than normal, but I pushed through to give Renae and Lukas the pictures they wanted! Even though I was anxious, it was a fun and exciting experience!

We loved hearing about how Renae and Lukas met. They have known each other since the 4th grade! According to Lukas, it took him a few tries to win Renae over, but once he did, they were inseparable! These two are so sweet together, and we can’t wait to see them get married at the Firefly Lane Chapel next month! Renae is going to be such a beautiful bride!

Renae, Lukas, and her family are such down to earth, sweet people! We loved getting to talk to them. We hope you enjoy a sneak peek from their session!
