It’s official! We have both graduated from college!! Can I get an Amen?
Words can’t express how it feels to be a college graduate. It feels as if a huge weight has been lifted, and there is finally one less item on my plate. For the past three years, I have worked full-time as an employee and a college student. I’m beyond excited to have accomplished my goal of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in business, and I’m even more excited to have so much free time to do what I enjoy.
Personally, I have been asked a few times what my post graduate plans are, since I have finished school. Most people probably don’t take me seriously when I tell them I plan to start a business. However, I have a huge heart for entrepreneurship and photography. I am determined to make something out of my passion. Now that school is finished, Chelsea and I both plan on going full-force into our business. While photography is currently not our full-time job, our goal is to head in that direction.
You may not know this, but I (Hannah) currently work an 8-5 job for a life insurance company, and Chelsea just accepted her first nursing job, which is also Monday through Friday. So, for now, photography is our side job.
The best feeling about finally being able to move Golden Hour Images forward is that we both firmly believe this is our true calling. It’s a great feeling when you have finally discovered your next step in life, and this business is ours. We both firmly believe that we were called to be creative entrepreneurs.
In our first year of business, Chelsea and I have booked 7 weddings along with various other portrait sessions. We have learned so much about photography and business in general by taking various online courses. Not to mention, we have started to learn calligraphy and build a brand of our own. We have so many plans in the works, and we can’t wait to share them with you all.
So, when someone asks what our plans are post-graduation, we will say our plans involve growing our business, honing and learning new skills, and traveling. We are both so excited to see where this path leads us, and more importantly, where God will lead us. Here is to doing what you love, no matter how big of a “Pipe Dream” it may be!
