I’ve officially been married for over a year. Along the way, there have been ups and downs. I’ve learned so much about my husband. I’ve learned even more about myself. I’ve learned that no one is perfect. I’ve learned that communication takes work, and I’ve learned that I have more of a redheaded temper than I thought!
Marriage is not easy. It is hard work, but no matter how hard it is at times, I wouldn’t trade any of it. Right now, for me and JP, one year of marriage looks like evening hikes after work, Netflix marathons, and JP busting out into random dance moves in the kitchen. We are working towards buying our first house and developing our careers. We are also focused towards learning more about each other and strengthening our foundation as a couple.
Our first year of marriage was also filled with endless amounts of learning. We’ve had to learn how to become better communicators, which we are still learning how to do. We are learning how to actively listen to each other and to give grace in all situations. Marriage is not perfect. It is about two imperfect people striving to love each other. Marriage is hard. It is a constant learning process, and it is God given.
It’s crazy how one year has already flown by. I can’t wait for many years of learning and growing with my sweet husband.
