For me, Charleston is the perfect place for relaxation and inspiration. The sunny, colorful streets are filled with so much history and beauty that’s it’s actually hard not to daydream about the past. Fun Fact: historical fiction is one of my favorite book genres. I love learning about the past through the eye of a relatable character, and imagining what it would be like if I lived in each of the decades that I read about. Charleston is actually one of the locations in the book I’m reading right now, which made my visit even more special.

Other than it’s rich history, it’s the perfect combination of city and beach life, and all of the southern food and traditions make me feel close to home. I’ll just say the Low Country life might be in my not so distant future!

I travelled to the city for the first time with Hannah. We planned a girls trip there when we were in college and had a blast! We both fell in love with so many aspects of the city and vowed to come back together again. I’ve visited multiple times since, although not with Hannah, but she and I are already starting to plan the next trip!

I recently made an impromptu stop there with my sister, Caitlin. It was the perfect getaway for the both of us, and left me dreaming about the next time I could go back! You won’t see me in any of these photos, as I was behind the camera, but you’ll get to meet my sister!
