I was working quietly at my desk at my day job, when one of my coworkers announced that her daughter was officially engaged! She passed the photo around proudly and explained the story of how Matthew popped the question to Stevie while she was visiting him overseas, as he is in the military.

I was honored when a few weeks later, she asked me if I would photograph her daughter’s courthouse wedding. Although I had never taken photos at a courthouse wedding, I have quickly come to realize that it is just as special (if not more) than a big wedding. It shows that they just couldn’t wait any longer to be husband and wife. Stevie and Matthew invited their immediate family members and were married on Valentine’s Day. They were both glowing with happiness despite the heavy downpours that we dodged throughout the session.

Stevie and Matthew, thank you so much for trusting me to photograph such a special day for you. You never wavered when I asked you to giggle kiss in the rain as random bystanders were yelling congratulations to you as they were walking into the courthouse. I wish you two all the happiness in the world!
