My wedding day was the best day of my life, but it was also one of the craziest days. It was almost a year ago, which is extremely hard to believe. 

Before we got married, we were engaged for over a year, but I planned my wedding in TWO weeks!! Say What?! … J.P. (which stands for Jennings Prescott) and I had gone back and forth on dates. We were so indecisive! I was in my junior year of college and working full-time, so it was hard to sit down and pick a date. We had planned to get an apartment together in June, and we both wanted to be married before move-in day. So, we finally decided on June 18, 2016. Looking back, this date couldn’t have been more perfect. One of the biggest reasons we decided to have the wedding so soon was because my grandmother, who was ill at the time, was able to watch me walk down the aisle. It made the day even more special. 

The day before our wedding, we moved into our new apartment. I would not recommend moving anywhere the day before your wedding because I had no time to rest. It was extremely hard switching my brain from organizing mode to wedding mode. The day of my wedding I had my cousin drive me to the venue, while I did homework in the passenger seat. On our way there, my dad called to warn us to go a different route because the main interstate was shut down due to a fire caused by a semi truck collision. (I’m not making this up) It took me over two hours to get to the venue!! Our schedule was put way behind, but everything came together. 

Jp and I did not have a traditional wedding. Because it was so short notice, we did not have a bridal party and no invitations were mailed out. We had maybe 30 people come. My mom made a playlist and played it off of her iPod. Thankfully, I already had my dress almost a year beforehand. Chelsea had my bouquet made for me as a wedding present, and we bought the rest of the flowers from Costco and Publix. 

The day had a few hiccups and not everything went as planned but to us it was perfect. The most important part was I got to marry the love of my life. He is the best person in the entire world. No one makes me laugh more, smile more, or roll my eyes more than my husband. Looking back, I wish I could re-live this moment over and over. It went by so fast, and it is such a sweet memory. I’m so thankful for the pictures that I have to look back on. They will always serve as a heirloom for me and JP to pass down to our future generations. We are so grateful to Chelsea for taking our photos. She did a great job, and we are also so thankful to both of our families. Our families helped make the day possible, and we love them so much. Jp’s mom even married us!
